In spring, fish the tide or moving water
The Sacramento River is running higher but clearing water is producing action for striped bass. Near the Freeport area around the bridge, and even into the Feather River.
Sacramento downriver reports bass bite with pile worms, and sardines but average size is around 10 pounds. Striped bass are also hitting live anchovies along with jigs with paddle tails. Use live threadfin shad when available
San Joaquin River try trolling from the San Andreas up to the Antioch Bridge. You need to get deep with using white jigs in the 15 foot range. The best lure is the deep diving Yo-Zuri with a white worm trailer in water depths ranging from 12 to 16 feet.
